Goals for 2008- 2009
To get every grade level to utilize the library and librarian when planning and implementing research units.
- Attend grade level planning meetings.
- Gather materials for upcoming units of study.
- Utlize CSI units
To familiarize and encourage use of available technology with new teachers and refresh returning teachers.
- After school tutorials for teachers.
- Meet with grade levels to encourage the use of technology in their classrooms.
To promote the library program to parents and the community.
- Present a program at a PTA meeting.
- Open the library at least one evening a month to encourage parents to attend with their children.
- Work with Title teachers to offer storytime for preschoolers.
- Contact local businesses to encourage them to donate their time or resources to enhance the library program.
To encourage students and teachers to read daily.
- Offer reading incentive programs.
- Utilize and expand book clubs for students and teachers.

Picture books will be utilized with all grade levels to reinforce finding inferences and predicting outcomes.
Research units and read alouds will be used to reinforce basic reading comprehension and finding the main idea with supporting details. Higher order thinking question techniques will be utilized to extend activities.
Grade level planning meetings will be used to share my plan with the teachers. The plan will also be posted on my library’s wiki.
